Contaminants such as germs, yeasts, bacteria, fungi, etc. multiply exponentially and often form a firmly adhering, chemically largely inert biofilm on interior surfaces. With our modern chemical sanitization methods, which can usually be used at ambient temperature, biofilms are chemically dissolved and flushed out of the system. For the treatment of external surfaces, e.g., in clean rooms, we rely on decontamination, using both chemical processes and fumigation with modern equipment.
